Our Story

Our motivation for founding the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund began with the loss of our childhood dog to canine cancer. Oly was a Golden Retriever who succumbed to the Canine Hemangiosarcoma in 1990. He was only 8 years old.

After waiting a few years, in 1994 Patrick got a Chocolate Labrador puppy and named him "Zuke". Zuke was full of boundless energy, which resulted in the founding of a company in his name, Zuke's Performance Pet Nutrition. At the age of 7, Zuke was diagnosed with canine lung cancer and ultimately succumbed to the disease in 2001.

In honor of Oly and Zuke we founded the Dog & Cat Cancer Fund. Zuke's commitment to the health of dogs and cats is evident in their products and moreso by donating a percentage of annual profits to the Dog and Cat Cancer fund every year. Zuke's has committed $10,000.00 USD to the cause for the fiscal year 2007 and expects to contribute more in 2008.
