Warning Signs

  • Abnormal, persistent swelling
  • Sores that don’t heal
  • Unexpected weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Unusual, offensive odor
  • Bleeding or discharge from openings
  • Problems eating or swallowing
  • Reluctance to exercise (loss of stamina)
  • Lameness or stiffness that persists
  • Problems urinating, defecating or breathing

If your dog or cat shows any of these symptoms, please make an appointment with your veterinarian to discuss possible reasons for the symptoms. Many of these symptoms can result from problems other than cancer.
