Christopher Meiering, Ph.D.
President & Co-Founder, Board Member
Chris & Zoe Chris received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Washington in 2002. His doctoral research was performed at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. He completed his post-doctoral research at Stanford University and most recently worked as a visiting fellow at the University of California in San Francisco. Chris currently lives inDurango and is the owner of an 11 year old lab mix “Zoe” and a 4 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix “Milo”.
Patrick Meiering, MBA
Vice President & Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board
Patrick received his MBA in entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona in 1992 and founded Zukes – Performance Pet Nutrition in 1995. Patrick has dedicated himself and Zuke’s to providing all-natural, wholesome treats for dogs and cats. With the success of Zuke’s Patrick has decided to give back to the community by donating a portion of Zuke’s profits to dccfund.org. Patrick lives and works in Durango, Colorado with his English Pointer “Trek.
Erin Decker, CPA
Treasurer of the Board
Erin is a certified public accountant with specialized experience in the non-profit sector. She previously worked for the Mozilla Foundation, the Open Source Applications Foundation, the Level Playing Field Institute and most recently was the grants administrator for the Mitchell Kapor Foundation. Erin lives in San Francisco with her cat “Mushka”.
Joanne Donn
Secretary of the Board
Joanne Donn has a Bachelors Degree in Business Economics and works full time as an office administrator and pursues her passion for motorcycling on weekends. In 2003, she found Benny, a chihuahua-dachshund mix puppy from a local rescue. She and Benny live and run wild in San Francisco.
Michael Carroll
Marketing Director, Board Member
Michael has extensive experience in communications and marketing in the non-profit sector. He and his wife live in Durango, Colorado with their dog, Murphy.
